On Nov. 27, a delegation from the Korean-Chinese Christian Fellowship, led by its president, Rev. Young Hoon Lee, visited the Charhar Institute on Wednesday for talks aimed at promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

The delegation was received by Qiu Guohong, a former Chinese ambassador to South Korea, in Beijing, said the institute.

Qiu said the visit was significant as relations between China and South Korea continue to show signs of improvement. He noted that exchanges involving Christian organizations could play a constructive role in fostering mutual understanding at the societal level. The Charhar Institute, he added, is willing to continue cooperation with South Korean religious and social groups to support the stable development of bilateral relations.

Other members of the visiting delegation included Secretary-General Rev. Kwon Il-doo. Chen Hongqiang, deputy secretary-general of the Charhar Institute, also attended the meeting.

Founded in 2014, the Korean-Chinese Christian Fellowship aims to promote dialogue and exchanges between Christian churches and believers in South Korea and China. Since its establishment, the association has organized church visits and academic exchanges, including delegations to CCC&TSPM and the Jinling Union Theological Seminary, as one of the key non-governmental platforms for bilateral Christian engagement.

Established in 2009, the Charhar Institute is a non-governmental Chinese think tank specializing in diplomacy and international relations. It is actively involved in public diplomacy and Track II diplomacy initiatives, with a particular focus on regional affairs such as the Korean Peninsula and religious diplomacy. Since 2015, the institute has been ranked among the world's leading global think tanks, playing a key role in facilitating civil society exchanges and international dialogue.
